And yet somehow you still end up driving back to your old dentist in the suburbs. You hear about the markets after they've already packed up. You didn't know there was a yoga class five minutes away until someone mentioned it at school pickup six months after it started.
It's not that the things aren't here. It's that they're scattered - across Facebook groups, word of mouth, handwritten signs in cafe windows, and recommendations that never quite reach you in time.

Why I built this
I'm Belinda, and I built My Little Local because I lived this exact frustration.
When I found my way to Samford, I felt that energy immediately - the sense of community, the slower pace, the feeling that life here could be really good. But as I got to know the area, I kept discovering things I wished I'd known about sooner. A business I'd driven past a hundred times without knowing what was inside. An event I heard about after the fact. A local maker I only found because I happened to ask the right person at the right moment.
And I started talking to business owners. I heard the same thing over and over - they were here, they were wonderful at what they did, and they just couldn't get found without a shopfront on Main Street.
So I built the thing I wished existed. A single, organised, living hub for everything happening in our community - because when locals can actually find what's here, everyone wins.
